Massive wildfires are burning out of control in southwestern France and central Spain, leading to the evacuation of more than 300,000 people near Bordeaux and over 121,000 in the Madrid region. The French fire has consumed 42,000 hectares and is reportedly generating its own weather systems, complicating firefighting efforts. In Spain, two major fires merged, burning up to 25,000 hectares west of Madrid.
