Chinese shipping line launches first regular Arctic container service to UK

Sea Legend, a Chinese container shipping company, has initiated the first scheduled service on the Northern Sea Route between Asia and Europe. The route, which connects Ningbo, China, with Felixstowe, UK, will operate for three months during the summer and can reduce transit times by half. However, the commercial viability of the Arctic passage remains uncertain due to its seasonality and reliance on Russian-controlled waters.
