PENTAGON AWARDS RAYTHEON $22.9B CONTRACT TO BOOST TOMAHAWK PRODUCTION

The Pentagon has awarded Raytheon a seven-year, $22.9 billion contract to dramatically increase production of Tomahawk missiles in an effort to address a systemic munitions shortfall. The deal aims to raise output from approximately 60 missiles per year to over 1,000. The move reflects growing concerns that the U.S. industrial base cannot replace advanced munitions as fast as they are consumed in modern conflicts.
