Contractors suspended from public tenders over massive lift failure at HK hospital
BearishInfrastructure
A Paul Y-Able joint venture and subcontractor Anlev Elex Elevator have been barred from bidding for new public works contracts due to severe defects in new lifts at Queen Mary Hospital. The Architectural Services Department found 24 of 28 lifts in a new clinical block were unreliable due to faulty components and poor installation, delaying the launch of services at the HK$15.15 billion redevelopment. The firms will bear all remedial costs and may face claims for project delays.
