SAUDI — US makes Saudi nuclear deal contingent on Israel normalization

The Trump administration has conditioned a civil nuclear cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia on the kingdom normalizing relations with Israel by joining the Abraham Accords. The deal, announced July 22, would permit Riyadh to enrich uranium and build reactors with U.S. technology. Israel welcomed the linkage, while Saudi Arabia has previously rejected joining the accords without a clear path to Palestinian statehood.
