Finance — OCTOPUS INVESTMENTS' £3.2BN IHT SCHEME FACES SCRUTINY OVER VALUATIONS, FEES
BearishFinance
Octopus Investments is facing questions over its £3.2bn inheritance tax service (OITS), with concerns raised about high valuations and management fees. The product, which invests in a holding company named Fern Trading, is valued at a 51% premium to its £2.1bn audited net asset value, a metric that has allowed Octopus to collect over £900m in fees. Scrutiny has intensified after Fern's fibre broadband division booked a £100m impairment and one of its portfolio companies, Vitrifi, collapsed.
