YEMEN — Yemen Accuses Houthis of Plotting to Impose Fees on Red Sea Shipping

Yemen's internationally recognized government has accused the Houthi militia of planning to impose illicit fees on commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait. The Minister of Information alleged the plan is being developed in cooperation with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The move would represent a dangerous escalation aimed at turning a strategic maritime corridor into a source of funding for the militia's military activities.
