BearishGovernment|Defense|Geopolitics
The estimated cost of the U.S. war with Iran has risen to $37.5 billion, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told the Senate Appropriations Committee. The new figure is $9 billion higher than earlier Pentagon projections and covers military operations, maintenance, and pay from the war's start on Feb. 28 through early September. Previous estimates, such as the $29 billion figure provided in May, did not include damages to U.S. military assets.
