India's flagship jobs scheme PM-VBRY creates 6.25M first-time roles in first year

The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) has created 6.25 million jobs for first-time employees in its first year, achieving 32.6% of its target for this category. The flagship employment scheme, which began on August 1, 2025, has also facilitated 4.85 million additional jobs through employer incentives. So far, ₹2,814 crore has been disbursed from the scheme's total outlay of ₹99,446 crore, with the government noting that payments are spread out until FY31.
