WhatsApp Pay UPI transaction volume doubles year-on-year in July

WhatsApp Pay's transaction volume on India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) more than doubled in July compared to the previous year, reaching 167.89 million transactions. The value of these transactions stood at ₹12,957.07 crore. This growth has positioned the Meta-owned service as the eighth-largest UPI app by volume, following the removal of user onboarding restrictions by the NPCI in December 2024.
