INDIA LIFTS WHEAT EXPORT BAN AMID RECORD DOMESTIC PRODUCTION
BullishTrade
India has removed all restrictions on wheat exports, moving the commodity from the 'restricted' to the 'free' category effective immediately. The policy change, which also applies to wheat products like atta and maida, reverses a ban imposed in May 2022 to control domestic prices. The decision follows the agriculture ministry's estimate of a record 120.66 million tonnes of wheat production for the 2025-26 crop year, which is expected to support farmer incomes and manage surplus stocks.
