India secures 1.64M tonne annual steel export quota to EU under new trade pact

India will receive an annual tariff-rate quota (TRQ) of 1.64 million tonnes for steel exports to the European Union under a new free trade agreement. Of this total, 694,853 tonnes will be allocated under the FTA component, with the remainder under the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) category. The quotas cover products including stainless steel, pipes, and hot-rolled sheets.
