UAE — UAE BANKING SECTOR ASSETS EXCEED AED 5.63 TRILLION IN MAY 2026

Total assets of the UAE banking sector grew by 1.1% in May 2026 to surpass AED 5.63 trillion ($1.53 trillion), according to the UAE Central Bank. The growth was driven by a 0.5% increase in gross credit, which reached AED 2.73 trillion. The expansion in domestic credit was primarily fueled by increased lending to the private sector, particularly to corporations and individuals.
