GE HEALTHCARE IN TALKS FOR $1BN ACQUISITION OF CANCER SCAN FIRM SOFIE BIOSCIENCES

GE HealthCare is in advanced discussions to acquire radiopharmaceutical developer Sofie Biosciences in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion. The acquisition would bolster GE HealthCare's diagnostics division, which has underperformed other GE spin-offs since its 2023 separation. Sofie, backed by private equity firm Trilantic, specializes in radioactive agents for PET scans used to detect cancers.
