DODGERS OWNER MARK WALTER'S INSURANCE EMPIRE FACES FEDERAL PROBE OVER LENDING

A federal investigation is scrutinizing affiliated lending practices within the insurance empire of Dodgers owner Mark Walter. The probe focuses on how Walter-controlled insurers, including Delaware Life and Clear Spring, funded his other businesses through an unusually high concentration of short-term loans. Of the $5.2 billion in such loans made last year, nearly all went to affiliated entities, with billions set to mature by the end of August.
