META — Indian govt summons Meta's global policy chief over removal of PM's video post

The Indian government has summoned Meta's President of Global Affairs, Joel Kaplan, to explain the temporary removal of a video posted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The post, which addressed student protests over examination paper leaks, was taken down due to what Meta described as a glitch in its automated systems before being restored. A parliamentary committee has also summoned senior executives from Meta, X, Snapchat, and Google to appear on August 3 regarding content policies.
