India approves Nepal's request for 654 MW of advance power imports

India has agreed to Nepal's request for advance approvals to import up to 654 MW of electricity during non-solar hours. The move is intended to help Nepal mitigate a power generation deficit of around 550 MW caused by recent flash floods. The approval comes as India itself faces unusually high domestic power demand.
