Indian Cabinet approves over ₹13,000 crore for new rail and road projects

The Union Cabinet has sanctioned projects worth over `13,000 crore, including `9,450 crore for four railway multi-tracking initiatives and `3,591 crore for a highway in Bihar. The rail projects will add 410 km of track and are expected to increase freight capacity by 76 MTPA, while the 83-km Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi-Sonbarsa highway will be built under the hybrid annuity model (HAM).
