SPORE — US imposes 12.5% tariff on one-third of Singapore's exports over forced labor claims
BearishTrade|Geopolitics|Supply Chain
The United States has enacted a 12.5% tariff on approximately one-third of Singapore's domestic exports, effective July 24. The levy follows a U.S. Trade Representative investigation that placed Singapore among 45 economies failing to adequately enforce prohibitions on goods made with forced labor. Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry rejected the allegations and stated it will continue to engage with the USTR on the matter.
