Fundraising via the offer-for-sale (OFS) route in India has reached a record high of ₹62,730 crore in 2026, largely propelled by the government's divestment activities. The mega ₹31,515 crore stake sale in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) was the single largest contributor. Government-owned companies accounted for over 93% of the total funds raised, helping the Centre garner nearly two-thirds of its ₹80,000 crore annual disinvestment target.
