Carbon credit firm Varaha sees opportunity as India's compliance market develops

BullishClimate

Gurugram-based Varaha, which develops carbon removal projects with smallholder farmers, anticipates significant growth from India's new domestic carbon market. The company, which has already issued over 700,000 credits and works with global clients like Google and Microsoft, expects demand to rise as the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS) sets emissions targets for major industries. Varaha has raised $55 million from investors including WestBridge Capital and RTP Global.
