RBI — RBI proposes mandatory dematerialization for securitisation notes

The Reserve Bank of India has proposed that all securitisation notes issued by commercial banks must be in dematerialised form, effective October 1, 2026. In its draft amendment directions, the central bank retained the minimum investment size for these notes at ₹1 crore for both issuance and subsequent transfers. The RBI has invited public comments on the draft guidelines until August 27, 2026.
