India eases export compliance with RCMC exemption for small shipments

The Indian government has exempted export consignments valued up to Rs 3 lakh from the requirement of a Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC). The move is intended to lower the compliance burden for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and first-time exporters, particularly those using e-commerce channels. Government data shows that while low-value shipments constitute a large volume of export documentation, they represent a small fraction of total export value.
