Aston Martin shifts assets to secure £550mn loan, angering existing bondholders
BearishAutomotive|Finance
Aston Martin has secured up to £550 million in new financing by transferring key assets, including intellectual property, into a new subsidiary outside the reach of its current bondholders. The move, which provided collateral for new lenders led by HPS, has drawn threats of legal action from creditors. S&P Global estimates the existing bondholders' recovery rate could fall to just 25% without access to the relocated assets.
