Police forces across the United Kingdom are spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) training for officers. Freedom of Information requests revealed that Surrey Police requires officers to write 500-word essays on anti-racism, while Northamptonshire Police training links Brexit to a rise in far-right hate. Avon and Somerset police spent nearly £400,000 on external DEI training over five years, while Northamptonshire employs eight full-time diversity staff at an annual cost of over £405,000.
